May always feels like a month suspended between things—spring fully awake, but summer still just out of reach. There’s a particular kind of energy to it: growing, stretching, shifting. That sense of becoming something new without quite knowing the final shape yet.

Certain points in the old seasonal calendar feel less like dates and more like thresholds, and Calan Mai has always seemed to me to be one of the most enchanting of them.

February’s newsletter has gone out, and it’s a wonderfully full one. This month, I’m sharing a mix of author updates, three book birthday sales, and the launch of my brand-new ARC group, The Story Hearth — a cosy space for early readers and behind-the-scenes story chat.

This month’s newsletter is filled with small sparks of it: free fantasy, sci-fi, and paranormal books to escape into; Welsh midwinter traditions like the Mari Lwyd and Gŵyl Canol Gaeaf; an update on Gerallt’s ARC list; and a reminder that it’s okay to move slowly, to rest, and to hold space for yourself.

November has arrived, and I’m welcoming the shift into slower days and candlelit evenings. October was a challenging month — both chaotic and strangely still — but the silver lining of those sleepless nights is that I poured every bit of energy into writing… and I can now officially say Gerallt’s story is complete! 🌙🖋️
