Hearth Light & Hollow Hours - October 2026

October has settled in properly. The mornings are cold, the lanes are slick with fallen leaves, and the evenings are drawing in a little earlier each week. It's a season that sends people indoors, and a good time to dig out the old stories.
This month's Folklore Friday posts walk the Unseen Border, looking at Welsh ghosts, spirits and the belief that the veil wears thin as winter comes on. The newsletter covers the rest, with news from the writing desk, a couple of book birthdays, the dates worth marking before Nos Galan Gaeaf, and some free reads for cosy evenings.

Until next month, take care, and happy reading. 💙
